I always love to end a class with something fun. Sort of a reward for doing well. This is a site I love because you can use it in many ways. It has online stopwatch, timers, virtual races, name pickers, number generators and more.

Click here to take you to the fun website full of possibilities. I name the characters of the race timers all the names of my students. Then the winner gets to choose the race we have the next lesson. There are a variety of game themes to choose from, even holiday themes.

With the name generators tab, I erase all the names and add my own words that can be what we learned that day, CVC words, long vowel, short vowel, etc… and can use it more so for a class review. What ever the game chooses randomly for the word, I either ask students to create sentences, or quiz them – “is this word long o?” etc. All my students love this.
